Each year Georgia Farm Bureau plans a trip to Washington D.C. for Young Farmer and Rancher members. It’s an opportunity to meet with lawmakers and to share concerns and ideas pertaining to agriculture.
The issues our Young Farmers brought to legislators were primarily regarding the Farm bill, immigration, trade, and W.O.T.U.S.
Cobb County was honored to have sent Young Farmers Brandon Kirk and Emily Thomas to Washington D.C. to speak with our lawmakers.
The Georgia Young Farmer and Rancher group were able to sit and have a discussion with Senator Perdue, where they discussed rural broadband expansion, Georgia department of transportation and other related topics that affect agriculture throughout the state. At the conclusion of the meeting, the senator obliged to a selfie with the YF&R group.
