June is National Dairy Month! How can we celebrate dairy at a farmers market? We can have dairy cow present. To celebrate dairy month, at the Cobb County Farm Bureau Farmer’s Market at Lost Mountain Park, we did just that.
Nicole Duvall with the GA Mobile Dairy Classroom presented dairy instruction and brought Jasmine the Jersey cow, our new bovine best friend! Groups of children…and adults had the opportunity to learn where their milk comes from and the preferential treatment dairy cows receive to ensure they produce delicious, healthy milk.
We would like to thank the community for supporting this local event. Our special guests included Chic-Fil-A West Cobb. They brought their mascot who took pictures and entertained guests throughout the market. Also in attendance was The Dairy Alliance, the National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Cobb County Water, Cobb County UGA Extension and our DJ was Mike Jones.
Last, but certainly not least we would like to thank Mayfield Dairy Farms for donating ice cream for our guests to enjoy on a beautiful Market Day.
We encourage everyone to get connected by subscribing to our website and following us on Facebook and Instagram by choosing the links at the top of the page. More importantly, don’t keep all the good things we are doing in Cobb County to yourself…Share what we are doing with a friend or family member.
You don’t want to miss our next event.
